What we say
Stiff drinks, jukebox and chill vibe
A classic dive bar in every sense of the term. While it used to be a local secret, in recent years more of the masses realized the Merc is there perfect place to start off a night out with their strong, cheap drinks.

As Tgirl, I find the Merc is a great place to go on Saturday nights. By 10PM there will be at least a dozen other girls there. The crowd is fun and friendly... easy to meet and greet and you can find your spotlight or a dark corner as needs. No cover, great drinks, easy parking, easy persons.

Great place to socialize and get a great cocktail that not far from downtown. They have a covered smoking area OUTSIDE the main building where the smokers and most of the non-smoking customers hang out. I never noticed smoke inside. No dance floor, no loud music but lots of conversation.

This bar is reported to have the strongest drinks served in Sacramento's gay friendly bars. While there is no dancing, it is a great place to socialize. Beware of the enclosed smoking area outdoors. The non-smoking area is inside the main building, but smoke still drifts inside.
